Ms. Jane Kiguta is an accomplished communication and public relations professional currently serving as the Ag. Assistant Director, Corporate Communication and Public Relations at the Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute (KMFRI). She holds a Master of Arts Degree in Communication Studies from the University of Nairobi, a Senior Management Course certification from the Kenya School of Government, and a Diploma in Public Relations and Management from the Kenya Institute of Management. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Language and Literary Studies from Moi University. Ms. Kiguta is a highly motivated and strategic communication specialist with extensive experience in managing and coordinating institutional communication programmes, stakeholder engagement initiatives, editorial services, media relations, and corporate branding activities. Her expertise spans strategic communication planning, speech writing, digital communication, social media management, content development, and institutional visibility enhancement. Her passion has contributed significantly to strengthening organizational visibility, stakeholder relations, and public engagement initiatives. Among her recent regional assignments, Ms. Kiguta served as Communications Co-Lead for Africa Marine and Coastal Operations for Southern Africa (MarCOSIO), a consortium under the Global Monitoring for Environment and Security and Africa (GMES & Africa) programme. The project focused on supporting African countries to adopt technologies that enhance the collection and use of Earth observation data for evidence-based policy formulation and decision-making. In this role, she spearheaded communication, dissemination, and stakeholder engagement efforts aimed at increasing information uptake and visibility of project outcomes across the region.
