On 1st August 2023, Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute (KMFRI) was invited to State to meet HE the President, Hon Dr William Ruto. The CS Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs and PS State Department of Blue Economy & Fisheries Ms Betsy Njagi led the team. KMFRI as the leading research organization in the country on matters Blue Economy, will be offering technical advice and hence playing a key role in supporting the efforts of His Excellency the President in creation of employment by improving fish farming in the county. KMFRI team was led by the Chairman of Board Hon John Safari Mumba and the CEO-KMFRI Prof James Njiru represented the institute’s management.
