Mangrove Planting Exercise
KMFRI team participated in a mangrove planting exercise at Chale Island in Kwale County in collaboration with the Gogoni-Gazi Community Forest Association members where at least 3,000 seedlings were planted.
Mangroves provide a wide range of benefits to both the environment and surrounding communities, including Coastal protection, nursery habitat for fish, water purification, improving biodiversity, and capturing carbon dioxide from the environment.
