KMFRI BOM Member Prof. Francis Kimani Njonge

Prof Njonge holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Parasitology from JKUAT, a Master’s degree in reproductive physiology from James Cook University – Australia, and a Bachelor’s degree in veterinary medicine from the University of Nairobi. He has authored and co-authored numerous publications in peer refereed journals, and is a registered and retained as a veterinary surgeon by the Kenya Veterinary Board with an experience spanning over 30 years.
On leadership, mentorship and community service, Prof Njonge has contributed immensely as a council member of Mount Kenya University (MKU) and Chairman of the Academic and Research committee. Besides participating in the Young Scientist of Kenya competition as a judge, and he has mentored many young people in both scientific and non-scientific projects initiated by youth. Prof Njonge’s outstanding performance in various roles has also earned him numerous awards and recognition.
