Mr. Valentine Mwaisaka Mwakamba was appointed to KMFRI Board of Management by Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Irrigation Cabinet Secretary via Gazette Notice No 4350 of 3rd May 2019 to sit as a member for a period of three years.

Mr. Mwakamba has close to 40 years of experience working at the helm of state corporations, business enterprises as well as political establishments.

He started out as Stocks Controller with Coffee Marketing Board (U) Limited from 1980 to 1995 before joining Linu Agencies in 1995 where he worked for a period of 12 years as a General Manager based in Mombasa. While he worked with the latter organization, he served at the Star of the Sea School Board as well as Kenya National Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KNCCI) as Chairman and a Branch Secretary respectively for a period of two years.

Before the end of his tenure at Linu Agencies, Mr. Mwakamba worked with the Kenya International Freight and Warehouse Association (KIFWA) as the chairman.

His experience in corporate governance saw him take over political mantle in 2012 where he served as The National Alliance Party of Kenya chairman until 2014.

Prior to his appointment, Mr. Mwakamba worked with Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) in three capacities; where he served as a Board member and as a chairman of Auditor and Risk Committee as well as Kenya Ports Authority DB Pension SchemeTrustee.
