Aquaculture has enormous development potential in Kenya. Despite the potential, inadequate training of personnel who can tackle fast-evolving production systems and technologies geared towards sustainable aquaculture development has hampered the growth of the sector. Currently, the general aquaculture training landscape in Kenya and curricula are fragmented, do not meet labour market needs and are partially duplicative and sometimes designed in an ad hoc basis.
